Sunset Vista Orchard

Flathead Lake, MT

Sunset Vista is perched on the east slope of the picturesque Flathead Lake. Home to some of the most ideal growing conditions for crisp sweet cherries. The lake is so massive it creates a lake effect that maintains temperature and humidity in the area all year.

Whether you are a small restaurant that wants that perfect “Cherry on top look”, a distributor who needs pallets of quality cooler stable cherries, or a family member who wants to provide healthy and delicious snacks to the family, we want to be there for you. Providing our customers with perfectly ripe fruit is our goal. It not only tastes better, but with 3-4 week proven cooler life, you won’t feel rushed to enjoy your heart healthy snack.

We focus on soil care and tree care, and the results are sweet stable fruit. Our orchards are all USDA organic certified and GAP certified. But we want to provide extra assurance that we care about the quality of chemical free production of cherries. We monitor our trees daily and remove minor pest issues manually before they become an issue.

We strive to produce cherries that are row 10 and larger, so our trees are trimmed heavily to reduce cherry load and assure an abundance of sugar availability. Leaf sap tests are taken as cherries develop to allow us to make last minute adjustments to nutrient needs of the tree. This assures we can provide a brix reading over 25.

Sunset Vista Orchard has exciting plans for the future. We are planting new varieties for future research as to variety strengths, season extension, and fruit quality. We are also planting several different types of shrubs, trees, and plants throughout the orchard to increase biodiversity and food available for harvest.

OUR PAST

You might have noticed that something looks familiar. Sunset Vista Orchards was previously known as Ramrock Orchards, however, our commitment to providing the same premium organic cherries has not changed.
